چکیده
AbstractBackground Cementless fixation is an alternative to cemented unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR). The aim of this study was determine if cementless UKR as good by comparing the five-year migration measured radiostereometric analysis (RSA) in a randomised controlled trial. Methods Thirty-nine patients were receive either or Oxford and studied at intervals up five years assess with RSA radiolucencies radiographs. Results During first year there small significant amount migration, predominantly anterior direction, both (0.24 mm, SD 0.32, p = 0.01) (0.26 0.31, 0.00) femoral components. Thereafter no any direction. At stage difference between migrations year, particularly three months, tibial components subsided 0.28 mm (SD 0.19, 0.00). This significantly (p greater than subsidence component (0.09, 0.28). Between second fifth radiolucent lines occurred less (one partial) compared (six partial one complete) Conclusions As, two years, components, them, we conclude that reliable cemented. It may be better are fewer lines.

Unicompartmental or total knee replacement: the 15-year results of a prospective randomised controlled trial.
Between 1989 and 1992 we had 102 knees suitable for unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR). They were randomised to receive either a St Georg Sled UKR or a Kinematic modular total knee replacement (TKR). The early results demonstrated that the UKR group had less complications and more rapid rehabilitation than the TKR group. At five years there were an equal number of failures in the two group...
متن کاملA randomised, controlled trial of cemented versus cementless press-fit condylar total knee replacement. Ten-year survival analysis.
We have carried out a long-term survival analysis of a prospective, randomised trial comparing cemented with cementless fixation of press-fit condylar primary total knee replacements. A consecutive series of 501 replacements received either cemented (219 patients, 277 implants) or cementless (177 patients, 224 implants) fixation. The patients were contacted at a mean follow-up of 7.4 years (2.7...
متن کاملUnicompartmental or total knee replacement? Five-year results of a prospective, randomised trial of 102 osteoarthritic knees with unicompartmental arthritis.
We randomised 102 knees suitable for a unicompartmental replacement to receive either a unicompartmental (UKR) or total knee replacement (TKR) after arthrotomy. Both groups were well matched with a predominance of females and a mean age of 69 years. Patients in the UKR group showed less perioperative morbidity, but regained knee movement more rapidly and were discharged from hospital sooner. At...
متن کاملRandomised controlled trial comparing early migration of two collarless polished cemented stems using radiostereometric analysis.
This was a safety study where the hypothesis was that the newer-design CPCS femoral stem would demonstrate similar early clinical results and micromovement to the well-established Exeter stem. Both are collarless, tapered, polished cemented stems, the only difference being a slight lateral to medial taper with the CPCS stem. A total of 34 patients were enrolled in a single-blinded randomised co...
متن کاملCementless Oxford unicompartmental knee replacement shows reduced radiolucency at one year.
We randomised 62 knees to receive either cemented or cementless versions of the Oxford unicompartmental knee replacement. The implants used in both arms of the study were similar, except that the cementless components were coated with porous titanium and hydroxyapatite. The tibial interfaces were studied with fluoroscopically-aligned radiographs. At one year there was no difference in clinical ...
